The Opioid Management Clinic (OMC) serves the Grampians Loddon Mallee, Barwon South West and Gippsland regions, providing specialised advice and support for prescribers and patients. Our Addiction Medicine Specialists include Dr. Adam Straub (AMP) and Dr Eric Hadinata (AMS). Clinic Inclusion Criteria:

• Review of opioid use in chronic pain where Oral Morphine Equivalent Daily Dose (OMEDD) > 50 mg, and concerns exist regarding OUD or opioid overdose risk
• Co-occurring opioid use with alcohol or other drugs where OMEDD > 50 mg
• Initiation or adjustment of opioid dependence treatment (ODT)
• Review of ongoing ODT

Please note: The OMC is a specialist consulting service, not a prescribing or pain management service. Recommendations are provided to the referring clinician, who retains responsibility for prescribing and ongoing clinical management unless alternative arrangements have been made.

Referrals:

• For MBS purposes, the OMC requires referrals from medical practitioners or Nurse Practitioners
• Referral templates are available on our website. If you are not using our referral templates, you MUST include a reason for referral
• Multidisciplinary case conferencing is available on request

• HealthLink ID: ballarcm – HealthLink referrals must be made via your practice management software. Ordinary emails to the HealthLink ID will not be received.
