Opioid Management Clinic

Orticare is proud to announce the establishment of its Opioid Management Clinic (OMC) in Ballarat, serving the Grampians Loddon Mallee region. Our clinic is dedicated to providing expert guidance for patients experiencing opioid dependence, including those with chronic pain conditions. Our Addiction Medicine Physician, Dr Adam Straub, can assist in cases where:
  • There is concern about a patient’s opioid use – including chronic pain conditions
  • The patient may be suitable for or is currently on opioid replacement therapy
  • There are concerns about a patient’s opioid use combined with alcohol or other drugs
  • GP is considering opioid reduction/rotation to reduce risk
We welcome referrals from General Practitioners (GPs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and other medical practitioners (OMPs) for Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) purposes. Initial consultations can be conducted either in person or through video conferencing, and secondary consultations are available by appointment. For complex cases, we also offer multidisciplinary case conferencing upon request. It is important to note that all consultations require a referral.
